Sade's Story 2

She sat in the waiting room, she was here to see Mrs Daniels. She shuddered as she thought of all that had happened between the last time she was here and now. So much
“Sade, How are you, Come inside,” Mrs Daniels said in a very cheerful voice from inside the office
“You seem to be so happy today ma, Good afternoon ma,” Sade replied as she took a sit opposite her
“As Christians are we not supposed to be. The Bible says we should always rejoice, so Joy is our lot, My dear. How have you been. Were you able to do all the assignments faithfully.”
“Yes, I tried ma, I try to pray for at least 30 minutes daily  but sometimes I get so busy that I don’t get to pray, and reading the bible is even harder….”
“Did you fix a particular time for this”
“No”
“That’s  is the mistake you made. There is always something urgent to do, but you have to fix a time daily that you pray and study, prefarably in the mornings, You will set an alarm to wake you up at that time. Since you are still a student you can set it at 5.30am so you can have time before you go for classes. So are you ready for today’s lesson”
“Yes, but I need to tell you some things ma. I seem to get angry easily and I always feel bad when I lash out at others. Since that day I have not see Henry, not to talk of having sex, but I sometimes find myself masturbating and I always feel so bad afterwards. I feel I am the worst xtian walking.”

“I thought we have agreed that God always forgives when we ask him to. I really appreciate the fact that you are so open, I was just meditating on James 5:16 that says 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. You need help and I will be here you help you. Lets go straight to our lesson for today.
We will be talking about the SAVING OF THE SOUL. There are some steps you need to take before your soul (mind, intellect, will) can be saved

1.  1. James 1: 21 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Engrafted means planting, so planting of the word of God in our lives can save our souls, note it is an ongoing process, you keep planting the word in you. What many Christians attribute to the devil is actually a problem of their souls not being saved. The devil gain access to the believer through an unrenewed soul/mind.

2.  2 . James 1:22    22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Implanting cannot be complete without action. As you read/hear/receive the word of God you have to do it. Acting on the word is a defense against the devil. 1 Peter 1:22 says. Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, As we can see in this scripture, purifying your souls can only be obeying the truth (word). Note the word you. It means the responsibility lies on the believer to purify his own soul. If you keep thinking the same thoughts you were thinking before you became born again, you will keep doing what you were doing before you became born again.

3.     3.  Take out the filth: another thing is to take out all source of wrong information. What kinds of films do you watch, music you listen to. Anything that will fill your soul with something contrary to the word of God you have to take out. There are three gates to your soul
A.      The Eye gate; What you see(pornography, nude, bad vices e.t.c should be taken out.)
B.      The Ear gate: What You ear (music, curses, gist e.t.c)
C.      The Mouth Gate: What you say, your confession (negative utterances)
These three entrances should be guided well, because they in turn feed your mind and       your thoughts which become your actions.

4.      4.  Isa 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
Phil 2:5
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
Keep your mind on the Lord at every point in time, it must be focused  on the lord

I will leave you with this scripture
Phil 4:6-9

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and MINDS through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — MEDITATE on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

We will continue next week, keep studying and praying and make sure you consciously act out the word of God. For those who have not read part one you can get that here. just copy and paste on your browser @
